Day 1

Arrive Shanghai Meal: N/A

On arrival you will be accompanied by one of our friendly and professional tour guides to the hotel.

Day 2

Bustling Shanghai Meal: B / L

Today you will enjoy a city tour and discover the bustling Shanghai.  You will visit Shanghai Museum, Xin Tian Di and the fascinating local attraction - the Bund. Shanghai Museum is the great place to find out the history and culture of Shanghai city. The Xin Tian Di is one of the most popular new entertainment districts in Shanghai, which is located nearby the former French Concession. Be amazed by the combination of traditional Chinese and Western culture and enjoy the walk on the bund - this famous waterfront broadway. Later today, you will visit a silk factory for an insight into the history of Chinese silk manufacturing. In the evening, the Huangpu River Cruise (at your own expense) is the best way to see the Shanghai's famous sites along the Huangpu River and enjoy the dramatic skyline of the Pudong business district.

Day 3

The Beautiful Ancient Water Town Meal: B

Today is a leisure day.  You can explore Shanghai on your own pace.

Alternatively you can travel to a beautiful Ancient Water Town (at your own expense) that is one hour driving away from bustling Shanghai, you will feel the town's romantic charm by wandering and walking through the covered corridors along the river and experience its profound cultural background and well-preserved ancient residences. This evening, you will have the opportunity of enjoying the Shanghai Acrobatic Show (at your own expense), which is a stunning performance that combines fascinating history, traditional Chinese martial arts and special effects.

Day 4

Travel to Beijing Meal: B

This morning you will travel to Beijing. You will be picked up by one of our friendly tour guides upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. You can relax and explore the hotel surrounding area by your own pace.

Day 5

The Imperial Beijing Meal: B / L / D

Layered with tales of emperors, uprisings, grandeur and hubris, Beijing is an extraordinarily irresistible place to visit. Today you will visit the national iconic site Tiananmen Square, the grandest public plaza in the world; the historical sites Forbidden City and Summer Palace, and be amazed by the beautifully painted traditional Chinese architectures and the historical stories behind them.  Later of the day, you will visit the local pearl factory and discover the secret of pearl cultivation.

Day 6

The Amazing Great Wall Meal: B / L

Today you will first admire the exteriors of the 2008 Olympic Games Sites including the famous Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Then heading to the largest Jade Factory in Beijing, and learn about this history and manufacturing process of this China's most precious and celebrated stone. After lunch, you will travel to the north of the Beijing city and to visit China's iconic attraction - the Great Wall, the largest defensive structure in the world. After the amazing day trip, an authentic Peking Duck Banquet (at your own expense) served with all the traditional accompaniments will help to complete this wonderful day.

Day 7

Experience the Local Beijing Meal: B

Today is a leisure day, you can explore Beijing on your own pace. 

Alternatively, you can join the local experience tour (at your own expense) and begin the day like many locals in Beijing with gentle exercise, as you partake in a local Tai Chi class during the visit to the Temple of Heaven, which is considered as the most holy of Beijing's imperial temples. Later of the day, you will then jump on a rickshaw and enjoy the Hutong tour that shows you the traditional Beijing neighbourhoods. These rapidly disappearing neighbourhoods offer a glimpse into the Beijing of the past.  In the evening, you may appreciate the exciting Beijing Kung Fu show (at your own expense) and be wow by this colourful traditional Chinese performance.

Day 8

Travel to Xi'an Meal: B

Today you will travel to Xi'an. You will be picked up by one of our friendly tour guides upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. You can relax and explore the hotel surrounding area by your own pace.

Day 9

Meet the Ancient Xi'an Meal: B / L / D

Today you will visit the incredible Wild Goose Pagoda. The temple was originally used to keep the Buddhist scripts which were carried by the great monk Yi Jing from the Indian area and over time it has become a holy place for pilgrims. Discover the Xi'an history by visiting the Xi'an Museum.  Afterwards you will discover the Ancient City Wall, built in 194BC, it is one of the oldest and best preserved city walls in all of China.

Day 10

The Terracotta Warriors Meal: B

Today is a leisure day, you can explore Xi'an on your own pace. 

Alternatively, you can join the Terracotta Warriors day tour (at your own expense).  View the enigmatic ranks of the Terracotta Warriors in the company of our experienced local guide. You may have the opportunity of meeting the man who discovered the Warriors and learn about the moment they were uncovered by talking to one of the farmers who stumbled upon them in 1974. Visit the famous Moslem Street, where many delicious local snacks and souvenirs are available for purchase. In the evening, be fascinating by the Tang Dynasty cultural performance (at your own expense) and feast on a yummy Dumpling Banquet (at your own expense).

Day 11

Yangtze River Cruise Meal: B / D

Today requires longer travel time. In the morning, you will travel to Wuhan. Upon your arrival in Wuhan, you will be met by our friendly tour guide and then transfer to the pier and check-in to the luxury cruise ship and relax.

Day 12

Three Gorges Project Meal: B / L / D

Your first day on the Yangtze River will begin with a beautiful buffet breakfast before setting out on your first shore excursion to the Three Gorges Project. The Three Gorges Dam Site is one of the largest construction projects undertaken by mankind and is the biggest hydropower project in the world. This evening you will return to the ship and attend the Captain's Welcome Banquet and enjoy the evening of dancing.

Day 13

Shennong Stream Meal: B / L / D

Today you will enjoy a shore excursion to the mesmerizing Shennong Stream. The stream flows through three beautiful gorges including the Mianzhu Gorge, Parrot Gorge and Longcangdong Gorge. Each gorge is renowned for its unique and stunning scenery. The Shennong Stream is also home to the Hanging Coffins, which are ancient coffins containing the remains of descendants of the Tujia people. In the afternoon, you will return to the ship in time for lunch and enjoy the crew's performance in the evening.

Day 14

Shibaozhai Meal: B / L / D

Today is a scheduled shore excursion to the legendary Shibaozhai. This site has a history of over 400 years when it was built into the side of a 200 metre tall hill. The striking 9 story red pagoda was built in 1819 to make it easier for people to reach the Buddhist temple at the very top of the hill. In the evening you will enjoy the Farewell Dinner and pack your bags in preparation to disembark the cruise tomorrow.

Day 15

Relax Day in Chongqing Meal: B

Today you will disembark the cruise at Chongqing, which is known as the Mountain City in China. Later you will be transferred to airport to board the flight home.

Arrive Australia Meal: N/A

Arrive home today.
