Day 1 - Arrive Shanghai

Meal: N/A

On arrival you will be accompanied by one of our friendly and professional tour guides to the hotel.

Day 2 - Bustling Shanghai

Meal: B / L

Today you will enjoy a city tour and discover the bustling Shanghai. You will visit Shanghai Museum, Xin Tian Di and the fascinating local attraction - the Bund. Shanghai Museum is the great place to find out the history and culture of Shanghai city. The Xin Tian Di is one of the most popular new entertainment districts in Shanghai, which is located nearby the former French Concession. Be amazed by the combination of traditional Chinese and Western culture and enjoy the walk on the bund - this famous waterfront boardway.

Later today, you will visit a silk factory for an insight into the history of Chinese silk manufacturing. In the evening, the Huangpu River Cruise (at your own expense) is the best way to see the Shanghai's famous sites along the Huangpu River and enjoy the dramatic skyline of the Pudong business district.

Day 3 - Travel to Beijing (Option to join the Ancient Water-Town tour)

This morning you can explore the amazing Shanghai city on your own pace and enjoy the leisure time before we are travelling to the next iconic city in China - Beijing.

Alternatively you can join the half-day Ancient Water Town tour (on your own expense), you will feel the town's romantic charm by wandering and walking through the covered corridors along the river and experience its profound cultural background and well-preserved ancient residences. Later of the day, you will travel to the next iconic city in China - Beijing.

Day 4 - The Amazing Great Wall

Meal: B / L

Today you will travel to the north of the Beijing city and to visit China's iconic attraction - the Great Wall, the largest defensive structure in the world. On the way, you will visit the largest Jade Factory in Beijing, and learn about this history and manufacturing process of this China's most precious and celebrated stone.

Later this afternoon experience the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony while sampling China's locally-favoured brews at a tea house.

After the amazing day trip, an authentic Peking Duck Banquet (at your own expense) served with all the traditional accompaniments will help to complete this wonderful day.

Day 5 - The Imperial Beijing

Meal: B / L

Layered with tales of emperors, uprisings, grandeur and hubris, Beijing is an extraordinarily irresistible place to visit. Today you will visit the national iconic site Tiananmen Square, the grandest public plaza in the world; the historical sites Forbidden City and Summer Palace, and be amazed by the beautifully painted traditional Chinese architectures and the historical stories behind them.

This evening, you will have the opportunity of enjoying the Chinese Acrobatic Show (at your own expense), which is a stunning performance that combines fascinating history, traditional Chinese martial arts and special effects.

Day 6 - The Local Beijing Tour & Travel to Xi'an

Meal: B / L

This morning you will join the local experience tour and begin the day like many locals in Beijing with gentle exercise, as you partake in a local Tai Chi class ( a min of 10 pax required) during the visit to the Temple of Heaven, which is considered as the most holy of Beijing's imperial temples.

Later of the morning, you will then jump on a rickshaw and enjoy the Hutong tour that shows you the traditional Beijing neighbourhoods. These rapidly disappearing neighbourhoods offer a glimpse into the Beijing of the past. Later of the day, you will travel to Xi'an.

Day 7 - Meet the Ancient Xi'an

Meal: B / L / D

Today you will visit the incredible Wild Goose Pagoda. The temple was originally used to keep the Buddhist scripts which were carried by the great monk Yi Jing from the Indian area and over time it has become a holy place for pilgrims. Discover the Xi'an history by visiting the Xi'an Museum.

Afterwards you will discover the Ancient City Wall, built in 194BC, it is one of the oldest and best preserved city walls in all of China.

Day 8 - The Terracotta Warriors

Today you will join the Terracotta Warriors day tour. View the enigmatic ranks of the Terracotta Warriors in the company of our experienced local guide. You may have the opportunity of meeting the man who discovered the Warriors and learn about the moment they were uncovered by talking to one of the farmers who stumbled upon them in 1974. Visit the famous Moslem Street, where many delicious local snacks and souvenirs are available for purchase.

In the evening, be fascinating by the Tang Dynasty cultural performance (at your own expense) and feast on a yummy Dumpling Banquet (at your own expense).

Day 9 - Yangtze River Cruise

Today requires longer travel time. In the morning, you will travel to Wuhan. Upon your arrival in Wuhan, you will be met by our friendly tour guide and then transfer to the pier and check-in to the luxury cruise ship and relax.

Day 10 - Three Gorges Project

Meal: B / L / D

Your first day on the Yangtze River will begin with a beautiful buffet breakfast before setting out on your first shore excursion to the Three Gorges Project. The Three Gorges Dam Site is one of the largest construction projects undertaken by mankind and is the biggest hydropower project in the world.

This evening you will return to the ship and attend the Captain's Welcome Banquet and enjoy the evening of dancing.

Day 11 - Shennong Stream

Meal: B / L / D

Today you will enjoy a shore excursion to the mesmerizing Shennong Stream. The stream flows through three beautiful gorges including the Mianzhu Gorge, Parrot Gorge and Longcangdong Gorge. Each gorge is renowned for its unique and stunning scenery. The Shennong Stream is also home to the Hanging Coffins, which are ancient coffins containing the remains of descendants of the Tujia people.

In the afternoon, you will return to the ship in time for lunch and enjoy the crew's performance in the evening.

Day 12 - Shibaozhai

Meal: B / L / D

Today is a scheduled shore excursion to the legendary Shibaozhai. This site has a history of over 400 years when it was built into the side of a 200 metre tall hill. The striking 9 story red pagoda was built in 1819 to make it easier for people to reach the Buddhist temple at the very top of the hill.

In the evening you will enjoy the Farewell Dinner and pack your bags in preparation to disembark the cruise tomorrow.

Day 13 - Giant Panda Breeding Centre

Meal: B / L

Today you will disembark the cruise at Chongqing, which is known as the Mountain City in China and travel to Chengdu - the hometown of Giant Panda and visit the incredible Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Centre, where China's national treasures - the giant pandas - live. The facility is a state of the artificial breeding and non-profit research centre. In addition to the adorable pandas, the centre is home to other breeds of panda, black-necked cranes and white storks.

Later this afternoon, visit Jinli Promenade, a rebuilt trading and folk art street imitating the ancient-style buildings in Sichuan. In the evening, you may appreciate the traditional Sichuan performance - BianLian (at your own expense).

Day 14 - Free Leisure Day (Option to join the Local Sichuan Day tour)

Today is a leisure day, you can explore Chengdu on your own pace.

Alternatively you can join the Huanglongxi day tour (at your own expense) and drive to Huanglongxi for a stroll around its well-preserved stone streets, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Pass three ancient temples as well as historical residences along the central lane. Stop by a local fruit and vegetable market and glimpse the Chinese way of live as townspeople do their daily shopping. After lunch, move on to People's Park to experience the most authentic view into Chengdu local life. Have a cup of tea in a traditional tea house, watch the local older couples dancing, and enjoy the typical leisure lifestyle of Chengdu.

Day 15 - Relax Day in Chengdu

Today is last day of your tour in China, you can enjoy a relax morning and prepare yourself for the flight back home. Transferred to airport to board your flight.

Day 16 - Arrive Australia
